Lausanne is the largest city and the capital of the Canton. The streets of Lausanne go up and go down... a lot ! Lausanne is built on three hills and you'll understand why Lausannois and Lausannoises have so nice legs !
Vevey
Vevey, on the shores of Lake Geneva. Vevey has attracted the biggest stars, musicians, writers and actors as Mr. Charlie Chaplin, who fell in love with Vevey. The famous actor has spent the last 25 years of his life here. A statue on the docks reminds us of him.
Le Vaud - Zoo de la Garenne
The village of "Le Vaud" is famous for its zoo. It is a small zoo, away from everything, in the hills of Lake Geneva. In fact, the Zoo la Garenne is not a zoo like the others. Here, there is no lion, no tiger, no monkey, but only animals from Switzerland and some of them will soon be released. Zoo la Garenne participates in an European program that aims to reintroduce in nature extremely rare animals, like Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus barbatus).
