The canton of Uri

The canton of Uri, central Switzerland. In fact, it is precisely at the center of the country.



City of Altdorf

Altdorf, the capital of the canton, a peaceful town (8,000) 460 m above sea level.

Altdorf is the city of William Tell. Tourists from all around the world stop in the village take a picture of the statue. For history, it is precisely in this square that Tell had the crossbow aimed at the apple placed on the head of his son.


City of Bürglen

William Tell was born and lived in the highest mountain in Bürglen, nearby village.

Bürglen, with its church and its Statue of William Tell. Here, no tourist buses, no cameras. Few people know that Bürglen is the true birthplace of William Tell.


Lake Lucerne

The small road runs along the shores of Lake Lucerne. With its 114 km2, it is the 2nd largest lake entirely in Switzerland. The canton of Uri sharing the lake with neighbors and friends of Schwyz, Unterwalden and Lucerne.
