Lucerne as a treasure. A covered wooden bridge, the oldest in Europe. The Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) links the two sides of the city, spanning the Reuss River. Built in 1333, it was originally part of the fortifications of the city, it measures 280 meters.
On the night of 17 to 18 August 1993, a violent fire destroyed the wooden bridge, which flares up immediately. Only the two ends of the bridge are spared. It is a disaster. In 8 months, the bridge was rebuilt.
